Two programmes are studied at the same time.
Many students opt for a double degree programme. In most cases, students choose the subject that is their minor in their first degree.
Often the combination is mathematics/physics or mathematics/computer science. This has the advantage that the courses from the minor subject in the second degree or courses from the second degree in the minor subject can be recognised without any problems. Even if 180 CP have to be achieved in the Bachelor's degree in both degree programmes, mutual recognition can mean that not so many CP have to be acquired later in the first or second subject. This means that you still study two subjects, but the recognition saves you time in the end, so that you often need less than 2x 6 semesters.
In the Master's programme, double students often opt for the interdisciplinary field of study. Here, too, the duration of studies can be shortened through mutual recognition of achievements.
Despite all this, a double degree programme is also a double burden, which manifests itself not only in possibly more CP per semester, but also in a higher administrative organisational effort. Furthermore, the time aspect should not be underestimated. A Bachelor's double degree programme can nevertheless take 9-10 semesters.
