The Department of Mathematics at TU Darmstadt
We are one of the largest departments of mathematics in Germany. More than 20 professors and some 75 research associates conduct research here whilst over a thousand students major in mathematics.
Our research activitiesin eight research groups cover a raft of mathematical fields. One important feature of mathematics in Darmstadt is our intensive academic exchange with the engineering and natural sciences as well as the humanities at our university.
Studying mathematics at Darmstadt
If you are interested in studying mathematics, Darmstadt is the right place for you. We offer courses in mathematics (Bachelor’s and Master’s), business mathematics (Bachelor’s and Master’s) as well as teaching maths at secondary schools. Moreover, you can choose an “M.Sc. in Mathematics” that is taught in English, allowing you to complete a fully-fledged Master’s course that covers the entire spectrum of our curriculum in English. Students at Darmstadt also benefit from the high academic level of our teaching modules as well as a closely-knit, personal learning strategy that is quite unusual in Germany.
