Network of Confidence of the Department of Mathematics

The Network of Confidence

The Department of Mathematics at TU Darmstadt is a place where people with the most diverse lifestyles can live, learn, research and work together in mutual respect. Any form of discrimination impairs this culture of togetherness and affects the people concerned.

In order to be able to react appropriately and helpfully to discrimination and to prevent discrimination, the Department of Mathematics has founded the network of confidence. This network offers contact persons for those seeking help and people in (acute) emergency situations. You can also contact the network of trust if you have observed assaults or similar incidents.

In addition, the network has set itself the task of raising awareness and making it clear that sexual assault can also take place in environments in which we feel comfortable.

The network of confidence is made up of members of all status groups, so that those seeking help always have the opportunity to turn to the person with whom they feel most comfortable.

Contact us!

Have you experienced discrimination and need help? Talk to us. We can help you.

Have you observed discrimination? Then you are called upon to take action. If possible, call a spade a spade, support those affected or demand respect and help for yourself. Your own gut feeling that something is wrong is a reliable signpost. Speak to people present, colleagues or superiors and get help. Contact our network of confidence. You will find support there – professionally and confidentially.

In acute cases of threats and violence, victims or witnesses should alert the police immediately by dialling 110!
