Junior studies

If school cannot satisfy your curiosity

Are you sometimes sitting in maths class and think to yourself "Oh gosh, it's all so easy, I'd rather study maths in more depth!"? Have you perhaps already found our course catalogue and are thinking about attending a lecture? Then a junior study programme could be just the thing for you.

What is the junior study programme?

As a junior student, you can attend lectures at the university parallel to school without already having obtained your A-levels. This option is ideal if you find school very easy and feel underchallenged.

In the programme you attend a maths course from our first year of study for one or more semesters. Analysis I or Linear Algebra I is best suited for this. This is done in consultation with your school. You will normally be released from your school work for the time you spend at the university, but you are not allowed to miss the school material. At the end of the semester, you will take the exam together with the students. It goes without saying that this module will then be credited towards any maths degree.

However, it is important that your motivation does not stem from the fact that you want to finish your degree quicker. You will have plenty of time for maths in your life. Prestige or better job prospects should not be a factor in your decision either.
