Dear students,

At the beginning of the new semester, we would like to draw your attention to some important information.

Please read the message carefully!

1. Office hours

2. Exam registration The examination registration period this semester is from June 1 to June 30. Please register for examinations as early as possible so that we can react to any problems during the registration period.

Error messages that we receive after June 30, 2025, 11:59 p.m. will not be considered.

PLEASE NOTE:

a) For compulsory and core modules, be sure to register for the technical examination as well as the study examination.

b) In the case of oral examinations, make sure you arrange an examination date in time. For in-depth examinations, you will need a form, which you must request from the officefor student affairs.

3. Welcome Masters! On Tuesday, 15.04.2025, the information event “Welcome, Masters!” will take place. It is aimed at students who are in their 1st Master's semester (regular or conditional) in the summer semester. Master's students in higher semesters who are still lacking orientation are also very welcome. Bachelor students should be patient until the WOrT, which will take place in May.

It starts at 10 a.m. (at 8:30 a.m. for international students) in room S2|15 244. There is information on degree programs and examination regulations, TUCaN, exam registrations, specialization offers, semesters abroad, etc… All information at: www.mathematik.tu-darmstadt.de/welcomemasters

4. Elective Orientation Days (WOrT) The WOrT will take place this year on Monday, 02.06. from 12:30 – 15:00 and on Thursday, 05.06 from 15:00 – 16:00. All students in their fourth semester are invited, as well as interested students in their second semester. You will find all further information in good time at: www.mathematik.tu-darmstadt.de/wort

5. Course evaluation The courses will be evaluated again this semester. You will be informed in good time via the website and by your lecturers. We look forward to your active participation – this is the only way to improve teaching in the department.

6. Summer party of the Department of Mathematics

On 02.07. the Department of Mathematics celebrates the summer. You are cordially invited to join in the celebrations. Details will be provided later. Bring your own bottle and something to eat!

7. Student survey

Every two years, all students at TU Darmstadt have the opportunity to take part in the TU student survey. The findings on the functionality of degree programs and general study conditions contribute to the further development of degree programs. Take part, you will be heard!

At the beginning of the new semester, we would like to draw your attention to some important information.

1. The office hours are currently divided into online and presence hours. The office hours take place on Wednesdays from 10 am to 12 pm. The online consultation hour can be attended on Tuesdays from 10 to 11 am

2. The exam registration period runs from 15 November to 15 December 2024.

Please register for all exams as early as possible so that we can react to any problems during the current registration period

Error registrations received by us after 15/12/2024, 23:59, will not be considered.

PLEASE NOTE:

a) In the case of compulsory and core modules, be sure to register for the course credit in addition to the subject examination.

b) In the case of oral examinations, make sure you arrange an examination date in good time.

3. Module activation:

You can request the activation of modules (minor, advanced courses, addtional courses area) easily via our webform:

4. Study abroad 2025/2026:

Students in their 3rd semester and higher may apply from October 15th until November 30th for an exchange semester or year in the academic year of 2025/26. More information under: https://www.mathematik.tu-darmstadt.de/studium/studierende/studieren_im_ausland/index.en.jsp

5. New double degree program with the University of l'Aquila (Italy):

Students in their first Master's semester can apply for a double degree program with the University of l'Aquila from October 15th until November 30th. The program is suitable for all specialization combinations and concludes after a total of two years with a degree from TU Darmstadt and a degree from the University of l'Aquila. All information at:

7. Graduation Scholarship for International Students:

Students with international high school or secondary school diploma who are in their final phase of their studies, can apply for a graduation scholarship. Application period is from October 1st until October 31st. More information:

8. This semester we are again conducting an evaluation of our courses. Feel free to participate and tell us what you think!

3. New Master Mathematics for the winter semester 2024/25
From the winter semester onwards, we will be offering the fully English-language Master's degree program in Mathematics with the fields of study Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Mathematics interdisciplinary, as well as the new field of study Data Science. It is possible to transfer to the new Master's program with recognition of all previous (also German-language!) achievements. The M.Sc. Mathematics (2018) and M.Sc. Mathematics (2018) degree programs expire.
German-language courses for students on the Master's in Mathematics (PO 2018) will continue to be offered.

4. Information event “New examination regulations”
On May 27 from 13:00 – approx. 14:30 there will be an information event in room 244 on the new examination regulations, including the new field of study “Data Science”.

5. Welcome Masters!
On Wednesday, 10.04.2024, the information event “Welcome, Masters!” will take place. It is aimed at students who are in their first Master's semester (regular or conditional) in the summer semester. Master's students in higher semesters who are still lacking orientation are also very welcome. Bachelor students should be patient until the WOrT, which will take place in May.
We will start at 10:00 a.m. in room S2|15 244 with an information lecture on the degree programs and examination regulations. Afterwards at 11:00 a.m. there will be an AG fair (similar to the WOrT), in which representatives of the AGs will provide information about the possible specializations. 6. International KickOff
Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9, the KickOff event for all international students (exchange and Master) will take place from 11:00 – 12:30. All information at: www.mathematik.tu-darmstadt.de/welcomemasters

Important information on exam registration

Dear students,

this message contains important information about examinations. Please read the following information carefully.

1. Examination registration period

You can register for examinations from 01.06. to 30.06.2024 inclusive.

2. Problems with exam registrations

Please register for examinations as early as possible so that we can react to any problems during the registration period. Error messages that we receive after 30.06.2024, 23:59 will no longer be considered.

PLEASE NOTE:

a) in the case of lecture modules, to register for the coursework in addition to the subject examination, if applicable.

b) in the case of oral examinations, to arrange an examination date in good time.

4. Superfluous module registrations

In TUCaN you can check which modules you are registered for under “My modules”. If you have registered for a module in which you do not want to take an exam, you can deregister from it. If this is not (or no longer) possible, please contact the Office for Student Affairs by e-mail:

5. General assembly LaG

On 25.06.2024 at 17:10 on the 2nd floor of the mathematics building S2|15, room 244, a general assembly for all LaG students with mathematics will take place.

The invitation with details will follow. Please come in large numbers.

6. Setting up the e-mail inbox:

Due to recurring technical problems, forwarding from student mail addresses to Gmail will be discontinued in the foreseeable future. To ensure that you continue to receive all emails, we strongly recommend that you integrate your student email addresses into a local email program. You can find the instructions here:

8. Evaluation period in summer semester 2024

Lectures and exercises will be evaluated in the period 03.06. – 14.06.2024. As in the previous semester, the evaluations will take place “online in presence”. We look forward to your active participation and feedback – the evaluation is a good opportunity for you to show us areas for improvement.
