The student union's financial and legal body

On the one hand, the association is responsible for our finances, which means that expenses can be covered by a financial application to the association. On the other hand, the Association is a legal entity and can, for example, enter into rental or insurance contracts. This means that the Association Board is also a point of contact for legal questions regarding the organisation of student union events.

The purpose and aim of the association is to promote and carry out student and orientation support, professional training and the promotion of science, teaching and culture, e.g. in the form of public dance courses, ballnights and theatre performances , at the Department of Mathematics of the TU Darmstadt. This is done in cooperation with the institutions of the TU Darmstadt, especially the committees and boards of the Department of Mathematics. Furthermore, the association supports the representation of students' interests, in particular in the form of financial support for activities of the student union at the TU Darmstadt that are in line with the objectives of the association. The organisation runs largely on donations, so we are always grateful for support. We are a non-profit organisation and it is possible to receive a tax receipt for donations.

Any individual can become a member of the Association. If you would like to become a member, simply complete the membership application form and send it to the committee. You can find the membership application form here (opens in new tab) .

Membership is free unless you wish to become a supporting member. All members who are enrolled at the TU Darmstadt at the time of the election have active and passive voting rights. All other members may be granted the right to stand for election to the General Assembly by a two-thirds majority of the General Assembly.

The Executive Board of the Association is currently (term of office: 2025) composed as follows

Four departments report to the Executive Committee:

  • The Orientation Department is responsible for planning and organising Orientation Week . The aim is to support students at the beginning of their studies.

  • The Dance Department is responsible for planning and organising the Mathematics Ballnight and the student union dance course.
    • Head of the Dance Department: Gonne Kretschmer
  • The Music Evening Department is responsible for planning and organising the Maths Music Evening and other musical events organised by the student union.
    • Head of the Music Evening Department: Tim Ktitarev
  • The Choir Department is responsible for the Maths Choir and in particular for organising choir trips.
