Game Nights

Games evenings take place at semi-regular intervals throughout the year and are announced on WasGeht and on notices in the Maths building.

As well as game-friendly snacks, there is a considerable collection of card and board games available – from quick games like 'Teamwork' (two people take turns explaining a mathematical concept) to time-consuming games like 'Arkham Horror' (save the world together from unimaginable evil). Of course, you can bring your own games and you're sure to find others to play with.

There is also usually a Maths Jeopardy – a Jeopardy with more or less mathematical categories and answers, sometimes focusing on basic mathematics, sometimes on general knowledge and sometimes on spotting a bad pun.

Whether you study maths, computer science, physics, something else or nothing at all, you are welcome to join us for the next game night.

The Fun-AG organises and runs the games evenings in the Maths building. This includes setting the dates, printing and putting up the posters, buying snacks and gummy bears, and sending out invitations via various mailing lists. The Fun-AG also manages the board games for the student body.

The Fun-AG works on a donation basis to cover the cost of the rubber animals and occasionally to buy new games. We collect these donations at the games evenings.

We discuss current issues – usually dates or planned new purchases – over lunch or at random meetings in the student council room. There are no regular meetings or anything like that. There are also no fixed tasks for organising the games evenings, but we help where we can. Working for the Fun-AG should be fun for you and fun for others.

So if you want to help us organise more great games evenings, or if you have any other questions about the Fun-AG, just get in touch with one of us or send us an email at .
