Course Description

This lecture introduces the basic concepts of topology, starting with topological spaces, open sets, and continuous maps. It covers standard constructions such as subspace, product, and quotient topologies, and discusses fundamental properties including separation axioms, connectedness, and compactness. The course concludes with an introduction to the fundamental group and basic ideas from homotopy theory.
