In 1998 the Department of Mathematics added this programme to its existing range of Diplom
courses as part of its effort to provide students both from Germany and abroad with an education
that combines Mathematics and Computer Science with the experience of studying abroad. It is hoped
that this will prepare the successful student in this course for an increasingly global job market.
Programme
Study focus: Pure and Applied Mathematics (75%), Computer Science (25%)
Degrees: Bachelor's degree after 6 sem., German 'Diplom' degree after 9 sem.
Possibly continuation towards a doctorate after the Diplom degree
English as language of instruction in first year
English and German from second year on
Examinations may be conducted either in English or in German.

Intensive course in German as a foreign language
German classes during the first and second semester
Individual guidance and intensive supervision of students
help with finding accommodation and dealing with administrative procedures.

The Semester fee includes various fees and free regional public transport.
