How to find the math building (S2|15)

By car, via motorway: Arriving from directions Frankfurt/Köln/Heidelberg/Basel, leave the motorways A5 or A67 at the exit Darmstadt-Stadtmitte Straight on till the end of Rheinstraße and pass to the City-Ring through the tunnel. Follow the City-Ring (Wilhelminenstraße, Hügelstraße, Kirchstraße, Holzstraße) until the Schloß appears at the left side. At the Schloß turn right into the Alexanderstraße. The next possibility turn left into Magdalenenstraße. (follow the green arrows at the plan) By train, arriving at the main station: In front of the main station take the streetcars line 3 (Lichtenbergschule) or 5 (Kranichstein) or bus line H (Kesselhuthweg). Leave the streetcar linie 3 or 5 at the stop Willy-Brandt-Platz/Gericht. Have a short walk of 5 min throught the Herrengarten (following the red arrows at the plan). If taking the bus line H leave it at the stop Luisenplatz or Alexanderstrasse/TU (next stop after the Luisenplatz). Have a short walk of 10 min (following the red arrows at the plan). By airplane, arriving at the Airport Frankfurt FRA: Take the AIRLINER from the airport to Darmstadt. At the busstation (stop position 14) at the Terminals 1 every 30 Minutes a bus goes to Darmstadt, the so called AIRLINER. Leave the AIRLINER at its final stop Hauptbahnhof. Then take the streetcar line 3 or 5 or the bus line H (see above). Ernst Schröder Saal (Lecture Hall S1/03/223) See the red-white marker on the plan.

Hotel Ernst Ludwig (visit hotel-website)
is a small hotel in the town centre (pedestrian area) of Darmstadt and not far from university. We have reserved 4 single rooms at a price of € 49,-- per night incl. breakfast. Rooms have private bathrooms with shower and WC and are equipped with TV. The reception desk closes at 21.00 and arrangements to get the key must be made in case you arrive later.

Hotel Etap (visit hotel-website)
is a new hotel situated approx. 800 m from University. We have reserved 15 single rooms at a price of € 41,-- per night (breakfast not included). Breakfast costs € 5,50 and can be taken in the restaurant in the same building. Reception desk open from 17.00 to 22.00

Hotel Alpha City (visit hotel-website)
is a small hotel in the town centre. The hotel has the same owner as Haus Martin (see below). We have reserved 5 single rooms at a price € of 52,-- per night incl. breakfast. Rooms have private bath rooms and TV.

Deutsche Jugendherberge (DJH)

is the youth hostel of Darmstadt and the cheapest place to stay. We have reserved three rooms with six beds each. Bathroom must be shared with other people. The price per night is € 23,30 incl. breakfast.

Haus Martin
is a small guest house approx. 100 m from the Depart. of Mathematics. Bathrooms must be shared. There is a fridge in each room. Cups and Plates etc. are available so that you can make breakfast yourself. We have reserved 5 single rooms at a price of € 24,--per night (no breakfast).
