In the last two decades the investigation of mathematical problems of solid mechanics has become a very active field. In this workshop recent progress made in modelling, simulation and analysis shall be discussed. Topics include for example
The workshop takes place under the auspices of the International Society of the Interaction of Mathematics and Mechanics (ISIMM).(http://www.isimm.ing.unitn.it/)
From the ISIMM-constitution:
The history of both mechanics and mathematics shows much evidence of the beneficial influence of each of these disciplines on the other. Mechanics is understood here in the broad sense of the word, including relevant physical phenomena such as electromagnetic and thermal fields. It is the purpose of this Society to promote the interaction of mathematics and mechanics. With this objective, international meetings shall be organized for the presentation and discussion of research at the interface of the two disciplines.
The lecture time is 30 minutes including discussion. Lectures start on Thursday, 9:00 am, and will end on Friday afternoon.
